week 1 day 1 Activity two

We had to write about our family for the summer learning journey

10 food Items that I would take for 3 weeks at sea

for one of the summer learning journeys we had to what we would take to the sea for three weeks this is what I choose.

free writing

For free writing I made a slide shared with my friends called cats I put all sorts of cats in it I have not finished it yet but I will. Sophie put one at the very bottom.

narritive writing

In ruma piwakawaka we have been doing narritive writing we had to choose what it is about and I choose a cat and a bunny it not finished yet but when it is done I think it is going to look amazing.

where am I?

When Mrs Minehan was in my class she showed us something called were am I we had to choose a place the we want to go to and I choose new york I got my friend to take a picture of me the I made a google slide then I put a picture of new york then I put the picture of me in it so it looks like I went to new york.

pool of Knowledge

I learnt some things about rubbish: tourists produce rubbish too leachate is the brown slimy liquid and other things.

mindfulness colouring

When we finish our reading tasks we get to do some colouring in I choose this one because I like it

Recycled Art

In Ruma Piwakawaka we have been doing recycled art we are in groups I am with Jamie-lee and we are doing a beach and trees.

We made another pick a path story but on a google slide Mrs Minehan help us make it it was fun

In Ruma Piwakawaka We made a pick a path. a pick a path is where you have to pick a path like there was two roads one was danger a the other could be scary road then thats when you have to pick a path

Calendar art

In ruma piwakawaka for art we did calendar art first we had to choose out of crayons and die or paint I chose crayons and die and my colours were green blue yellow red and pink I chose orange for my die colour.

reading

We had a four day off week and for two more days in Piwakawaka we get to choose what book out of our reading box and read it for two days.

SRA

Ruma Piwakawaka are doing SRA's there are 10 colours of books: one aqua, two blue, three purple, four violet, five rose, six red, seven orange, eight gold, nine brown and ten tan. After the names it it says after names SRA's power builders. We do it for reading every day, every week.
We grab our maths books and a SRA book, then we read, then we answer questions about the story. You can have up to 33 questions.

Rabbits

We had to figure out what the answer was for our maths it was called rabbits. Some people did a different one. We could work in groups  and in my group I had Sophie and Jamie-lee. 

Compute it

We are doing compete it. To play it you have to look at the directions, they are in code, to get the pattern right.

I did a video of me doing a matific video and I did a block activity it was so fun and cool. You had to match the side of the other side of the picture.

Transformation using grids

Today we found an accredited image on Explore and selected it to use on our page. We then put a 5x5 grid on it so we could copy the image and make it original. Mrs Minehan selected the first two images so we could understand the process, then we got to choose our own image.
I found the first one easy to copy and I chose the image of the koru  because I was proud of my drawing.
Have you ever tried to transform an image using a grid? How did you find the process?

 Today we made dragons out of picture.  First we found a picture of a dragon and used polyline to draw around it.  Then we coloured it and then it turned out like this and on the inside you can different things in it too.  Have you ever tried this before?

We made suncatchers and we had to use paper plates scissors leaves string laminator sheets and paints. First we painted the paper plates cut the middle out then we let it dry in the sun. When it was dry we got our laminator sheets out and put our leaves in and put it in the laminator. Then we cut it into a circle and then we taped the panted plates to the laminated leaves then we put string and hung it up. Have you ever made a suncatcher like this? We did a science experiment with Mrs Swinburn. We put six drops of colour into the three cups and put a flower in each cup and then we had to wait for two days to see any change in the flowers. Each flower soaked up the coloured water and changed colour a little bit.

All about me.

This is the first week in my new class. My teacher is Mrs Swinburn

 and I am in Ruma Piwakawaka. I have shared some interesting things about myself and made a self portrait using the tools on Google Drawing. Are you in a new class this year? Have you ever tried to make a self portrait on Google Drawing?
