MineCraft Monthly Build Challanges

Mr A lets us do Minecraft Monthly Build Challenge. After the building we had to do a writing task where we explained our decisions and what would happen next.  The first week we did an island Challenge where you had to build anything on a small island. I just built random things and then it turned out to be one of those home island. I was working with Lizzie and Kaya but then they got lost so I made my own one. First I started with an underground house. It was small but cool. When I was building the base the sand kept on filling on the house and it was ANNOYING. Then I wanted a blossom tree and when I spawn it there was a tree so I smashed the jungle leaves and got the pink concrete  and some other stuff and I replaced it. Then on the top of my base I put some crops. Then In the water I saw some Turtles and I had the idea of making a turtle farm. And so I did. When I finished that I made I fishing area. It had a dock and a seat for me to sit on when I'm fishing. And at the start dock there was a chest with 4 fishing rods in it. After that I made a little horse thingy and the horses looked a bit weird. The last thing that I did was a bee farm and the bees flew away.

The play

 All the year 5 and six's did a play. It was called "Snow White And The Eight And A Half Monsters". I was the kind queen at first but I swapped with Olivia cuff and then I got to be the mirror witch I liked a lot more. (basically because I get to hide behind a mirror. But not fully). It took about 3 days to film it and 3 or 4 weeks to practice. Olivia brought her horse into the school for the play. I think he was a bit scared because Olivia told me that he was bucking and rearing. We are going to make it a movie apparently.

Close Fire

 On Tuesday September 7th a fire happened. The house that got caught on fire was Tony Graham's house.  It was so scary. It started when I had finished my 9:00 meeting for school. I went to go do my maths but then I heard a fire engine siren go off and two fire engines went past my house. I decided to ignore it but then everyone in my house got involved. I went out with them and there was a lot of smoke. We went down further to where Leon's house was. My mum friend was right next to Tony's house. And it was a little bit helpful when it started to rain. There were ambulances, Police cars and two fire engines.

LOCKDOWN BINGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

 In Lockdown Mrs Swinburn gave us a task. It was called Lockdown bingo. It had stuff like going on a bike ride, going on a walk and lots of other things. When you finished I task on there you had to fill in the boxes red. I haven't done a lot of it but I have done most of it. When we finished the things that we did and colored them in we had to link it on a doc so Mrs Swinburn could see what we done.

 If we go into level two before Zephyr's birthday we are going to hamner springs for Zephyrs birthday Mum was looking if they wee going to be open. I looked at Zephyr and his face was so confused. I looked where he was looking AND HE SAW MY CAT ON THE ROOF. I didn't know how he got there in the first place until I  got outside. There was a ladder that must of been how he got on the roof. I asked Zephyr to bring the ladder over so I could get Jake down ( that's my cats name). I put my hands out to grab him but he backed away. I think he is scared of high places. Then I stepped up another step and I was able to grab him and his claws were digging into my chest. He bolted inside and in my room. but then he went outside again.

Bike rides to Polly.

 In lock down I have been going on bike rides over to my favourite horse. Her name is Polly. She stays in a paddock with a horse named Cruze. Cruse has one eye. I do't really know how he got blind but to be honest he scares me a little bit. If you touch him on the side with no eye he will shoot his head up fast. I give Polly some grass and sometimes I give her apples. I get really exited when I see her. after we see Polly and Cruze we go up and down the boys brigade hill and it is fast. Were do go bike Riding to?. 

Replacing The Old Shed

 We have a two sheds at our house. One of them is new and one of them is really old. My dad is smashing down the old for two reasons. One is because he has build a REALLY big shed and its his dream shed. and the other reason is because he want to put a small basketball court there and a deck maybe to put a spa on it. I'm really exited even know I'm not used to playing basketball it will still be fun.

Lisa Carrington

 

We have been learning about the Olympics. We had to make a slide about an Olympic athlete. I chose Lisa Carrington. She is famous for rowing. She was born 23 of June 1989 and she is 32 years. Her parents names are Pat Carrington (Dad) and Glynis Carrington. I also Like Horse Riding Olympics.

Who is your favourite Olympic?.

All Blacks

In Kereru we did something different for reading. We wrote what we knew about the All Blacks. Most of the girls did not know much. These are all the things I know about them. It was a little bit hard for me and some of the girls because we knew not much about them. I found it a little bit fun getting to learn some things about them.

What do you know about the All Blacks?.  

Time Capsule

 In Kereru we are making a time capsule. We are writing a Letter to ourselves 50 years in the future. We had to write about ourselves and what has been happening in the past two years. It was a bit weird when I was writing the letter because In 50 years or even more I'll probably be reading the letter. We wrote things like what had happened in the Olympics, about us, our family and lots of other things. We might be burying the letter in the ground for 50 years or even more. Have you ever made a Letter and  buried it in the ground.  

                  

Flax Basket.

 

We have been learning how to make a Flax Basket. It was hard at the start but then it got really easy. First we had to rip the spine out of the flax then rip the flax apart. We had to get twelve strips of flax to make it. You had to put down seven pieces of flax then go up and down with five pieces of flax. Then with the five two sides we folded them and at the end of folding both sides you do one braid on each side then tie it up with a skinny piece of flax on both sides. The put rap them round and round to make a handle. Then with the rest of it tie it and cut the long bits of flax.

Emily Carr

This is my first Emily Carr Art that we did with Mrs Swinburn. Emily Carr was known for Writing and painting. She was a Canadian Artist. She was born 13 December 1871 and she Died 2 March 1945. 

The first painting we had to: Pick 2 or 3 colors for the background. Then once we picked our colors we sponged them onto a piece of paper. Then we got another piece of paper to sketch a tree. When we had done that we painted it with black paint onto the paper that had been sponged and we also added some grass.

Fake news poster.

We have learn't how to know what is fake news or real news. We got this of a website and we had to reda a book about kids getting sucked ( Sucked is the site and the story's name ) people post fake news sometimes. The thing I liked most about this task was making the poster. you would have to check for an author. have you ever seen fake news before?.

Rocket

 

In Kereru we are making rockets out of bottles and we made a Jam board to help us make a better rocket. the small bottle rockets go further. My favourite Part will be when we launch the rocket. My other part is when we can make the rocket. Have you ever made a bottle rocket before?.

AWESOME DISTRICT ATHLETICS 2021

 We do Athletes because it teaches us to compete but also to to show sportsmanship. At Athletics I did all the running races high jump and long jump. In the 1000 meters I came 1st. And in the 80 and the fifty I don’t know what place I came. In long jump I find it hard to run then jump on the mat because Im sometimes I’m one step ahead. In high jump I tried to jump high but the mat was real high. I also saw some of my friends there too. What is your favourite sport?.

RDA Polly

When I went to RDA with Zack Jackie and Ollie I rode a horse named Polly. And when we did trotting at the end Polly got angry. You know when they are angry when they put there ears right back. But Polly is a happy horse. After  we went to the bush and we got taken off the lead so we could lead the horse by our selfs. The horse that Zack was riding Mo keep trying to eat. When we got back we got off the horse and did some jobs. Polly is my favourite horse. Have you ever been on a horse?. 

Our school is cool

 

 

These are the things that are good about kaniere school. I made it of jamboard. It was fun and cool. and they are ideas for a rap. have you ever made a  rap or used jamboard?.

Clued up kids

 

On Friday we went to the Boys Brigade Hall for an activity called Clued Up Kids. It was about safety stuff. My Favourite one was the horse work station.  The horses name was patches and she was nice. her eyes were blue and her fur was white and brown. We got to pat the horse. there was lots of other stuff there two. I went in Mrs Swinburn's car with Lizzie and Oscar. It was fun!!!!!!!!!.

For writing this week we did some narrative writing and created a story that we could turn into an ebook.

This is my Ebook. It is about a cat named stormy and a girl named Luna. They go through a BIG thunder storm and the whole city gets crushed. But then stormy does something unexpected.

Leadership

 This year 2021, I am a year six and I have new responsibilities.

1.   Sports Council.  In the sports council we have to look after the sport equipment and make sure everyone is looking after it.

2. Hapu Leader. A Hapu leader is in charge of the Hapu house groups.  

3.  Student council.    The student council is responcible for running Whanau Time and Assembly.

The one that I like the most is the sports council because I love sport.

Cooper and Olivia's Kawa of Care

 

In Kereru we are doing Kawa of Care posters. I worked with Olivia. Olivia did the Chrome + Book = Chromebook part and I did the writing. It took us about three days to finish the poster. Me and Olivia made this poster in Canva. Have you ever used Canva?.
